If anyone in the Minneapolis area is looking for something to do the weekend of April 5-7, come to SkepTech!
This is a free conference that will “celebrate the relationship between innovation and critical thinking.” Guest speakers include Jen McCreight, Greta Christina, and PZ Myers!
The Universe is a wee bit older than we thought. Not only that, but turns out the ingredients are a little bit different, too. And not only that, but the way they’re mixed isn’t quite what we expected, either. And not only that, but there are hints and whispers of something much grander going on as well.
So, last week, I was basically (and unexpectedly) offered my dream job.
I had an old colleague contact me about working as assistant director at a space center in my hometown—a center that I volunteered at and eventually worked for (in a minor capacity) all through high school and college.
Classes haven’t even started yet, and I’m already swamped with homework.
I hope getting my Master’s is the smart move, given this age and economy, but I’m already working full-time at a job that I love and I honestly don’t know how I’m going to manage going back to school on top of that. And I’m starting to hear stories from people who regret getting their Master’s, because managers actually don’t want to hire people who have that level of education.
Hopefully this all works out…
I have a date tonight, and I don’t know what to do.
I’m always looking for resources that I can use for research, or for ways to stay inspired, or for any kind of writing advice at all. I’d also love to connect with others on this site who are also working on writing original fiction. I think it’d be lovely to have others to bounce ideas off of, or even share snippets of writing with in order to get an outside opinion.
Canadians.
And Minnesotans :)
